Digital Ergonomics combines people's abilities with technology's potential to maximize user experience.
Ergonomics on websites has always been reduced to text legibility, the contrast and relation between foreground and background, content accessibility and fast information gathering, but this approach, from ESI-Tecnalia's point of view, is too shallow, obsolete and trivial, as with the growth of Information Technologies in the last years, there are now several more objectively measurable quality factors in websites than before.
Quality in the use of websites is closely related with the perception users have in a certain context of use, this is why in ESI-Tecnalia we consider that Information Systems' quality must be measured through high level characteristics (quality factors) as user satisfaction and their experience, online confidence and reputation of the Information System itself or the System's ability to adapt to different environments or contexts.
